After receiving a donation from the Lend A Hand Program in 2023, Emily used it mostly to take her rescue dog, Phoenix, to the vet for a check-up.
Emily, 30, has been in treatment since she was 16. She says she was “going to the party” for the reception, then going down to the hospital in a way, and then being exhausted from the treatment. The symptoms would return and she would return to the hospital for about two weeks each month.
But while he was working with Aspire Health Alliance, the hospitals ran out. Her emotional support dog, whom she calls Feeney, helps a lot, too.
The dog’s age was unknown when he was first adopted, but a veterinarian determined he was 9 to 11 years old, making him a large dog. need more attention with proper nutrition, visits to the vet and general health.
Emily shared that last year’s donation was a huge help to her and Phoenix, as it is an important part of her life. In addition, it allowed him to buy warm clothes and blankets so that he and Phoenix could keep themselves comfortable during the cold New England winters. He said as long as Phoenix is safe, he feels safe and happy.
Emily is very grateful for the support.
